Duties: - Scrutinize prescriptions and provide information on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage. - Administer vaccinations via injectable, nasal, and oral routes, monitoring patients for adverse reactions. - Collaborate with healthcare professionals to assess drug regimens and provide drug-related advice. - Review patient records to ensure appropriate medication therapy. - Analyze prescribing trends to enhance patient compliance and prevent harmful interactions. - Oversee controlled substance distribution and ensure accurate record-keeping. - Monitor infectious disease trends and provide guidelines for prevention in susceptible populations. - Educate the community on health promotion and disease prevention strategies. - Advise chronic disease patients on vaccination schedules per CDC guidelines. - Analyze factors influencing generic medication pricing for reimbursement recommendations. - Prepare literature on over-the-counter products and herbal remedies for display in the pharmacy. - Report adverse drug reactions through FDA Medwatch program. - Conduct comprehensive medication reviews and targeted interventions. - Counsel patients on proper medication usage. - Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, stocking, and handling supplies. - Obtain prior authorizations from healthcare providers as needed. - Ensure patient adherence to prescribed medications. - Develop pharmaceutical compliance policies in accordance with relevant regulations. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Science; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred. - Active state pharmacist license required. - Experience in pediatric care, critical care, hospital pharmacy settings preferred. - Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, IV infusion therapy, and acute care practices. - Familiarity with utilization review and management processes. - Proficiency in inventory management and pharmacy operations.
