Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Line Cook to join our team at AFURI Ramen + Dumpling known for its exceptional flavors and dedication to quality. As a Lead Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in the kitchen, collaborating closely with the culinary team to ensure the consistent delivery of delicious ramen dishes. Working directly with the Sous Chef, you will take on a leadership role, overseeing kitchen operations and upholding our standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook a variety of Japanese dishes with precision, adhering to established recipes and techniques.
Monitor the quality of ingredients to ensure freshness and taste.
Kitchen Leadership: Lead the kitchen team during service, delegating tasks and ensuring smooth operations.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment.
Quality Control: Maintain high standards of presentation and taste for all dishes leaving the kitchen.
Conduct regular taste tests and inspections to guarantee consistent quality.
Inventory Management: Assist in managing kitchen inventory, including ordering and restocking ingredients as needed.
Minimize wastage by employing efficient portion control practices.
Sanitation and Safety: Uphold strict hygiene and safety standards in accordance with local regulations.
Monitor the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, equipment, and workstations.
Communication: Liaise with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth communication and timely order delivery.
Communicate effectively with the management team regarding kitchen operations, supplies, and any issues that arise.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Lead Cook or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- In-depth knowledge of ramen preparation techniques and a passion for Japanese cuisine.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide kitchen staff.
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
