Maintenance Technician
Lipman Portland LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to be a part of our team. Lipman is a privately-owned family farming company. We are the largest grower of tomatoes in North America. During this application process candidates may be required to complete a mechanical aptitude test as well as a practical electrical exam.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability and desire to work in a team environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with mechanics, electrical, building maintenance and refrigeration systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Experience with automated machinery, both PLC Driven and Proprietary Logic Systems.
- Must have schedule flexibility to work during emergency situations, weekends and off shifts as necessary.
- Full time position
- Sunday to Thursday 10AM to 6PM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties as assigned)
- Install, assemble and test new and existing machinery.
- Follow preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Manage a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Oversee compressed air, water, HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Provide emergency response on different types of equipment.
- Analyze problems, troubleshoot and repair all equipment, facility, trucks and trailers.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems up to 480v, 3 phase.
- Must be able to diagnose, repair or replace any and all failures that may occur during production.
- Must be able to take accurate measurements and know how to check gearbox oil levels.
- Know how to check forklift engine oil, transmission oil, and hydraulic oil.
- Must be able to satisfactorily weld and cut with cutting torch.
- Must be able to repair or replace sprockets, chains, belts, bearing, gearboxes, and motors, and be able to adjust and repair air-operated machinery, like box filling units.
- Need to be able to use a chop saw, drill press, hand drill, hand & stationary grinder, belt lacer, and hand operated air tools.
- Must be able to adjust, repair, clean, or replace parts connected with palletizing cold glue systems, as needed.
- Learn ink jet printers and be able to adjust, clean, repair and replace parts as needed.
- Apply to all company policies, rules and safety regulations.
- Must under control wiring and be able to diagnose problems as they occur.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Certifications
- High School Diploma minimum.
- 2 years of experience in manufacturing environment, preferably food industry and/or training.
- Bilingual preferred (English-Spanish)
