SUPERVISOR, PROFEE CODING & AUDIT – MANAGED RESOURCES
Full-Time | Remote
Pay Range: $65,000-$75,000
Job Overview/Purpose
The Supervisor of Profee Coding & Audit is an exempt, full-time remote position. The Supervisor will serve as the Company Representative for clients in fulfilling coding & audit support needs and resolving service issues as they arise. Assign and coordinate coder & auditor work assignments. Monitor the coder & auditor hours, productivity, and quality. Oversee the preparation of weekly performance reports for clients. Perform periodic coding quality review on team members and client coding audits.
This job may be performed remotely, but may require travel to the Long Beach, CA office, client sites and industry conferences.

Essential Job Functions:

Complete the following functions in accordance with Managed Resources policies:
- Assist with developing and maintaining audit programs
- Create and maintain internal coding protocols and client protocols as requested
- Hire, train, onboard, and oversee coders and auditors
- Perform new employee orientation including scheduling training, time sheet preparation and submission, and ordering equipment and supplies.
- Ensure both internal and external stake holder goals are met
- Insure coder & auditor availability, productivity and quality goals are met
- Supervise the coder & auditor workload, set coding turnaround time expectations, and deliverables
- Oversee weekly scheduling of contract coders in collaboration with the clients
- Work with team to provide profee coding & audit training to new and existing staff
- Perform periodic QA audits on coding and auditing team and complete client audits as necessary and/or available
- Oversee the preparation of reports on coders & auditors time and productivity data, to be used in report preparation
- Serve as an educator for the audit and other healthcare professionals/departments in the use of coding guidelines and proper documentation requirements, as it relates to data quality management and reimbursement.
- Serve as a liaison between Sales, the Clients, and Coding & Audit Staff to ensure adequate staffing levels based on the client needs and expectations
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients regarding company work assignments and timelines
- Assist as needed as a subject matter expert with proposals, presentations, statement of work, and RFP’s
- Subject matter expert and resource to internal and external stake holders.
- Help recruitment team in the hiring process to insure high quality resources are hired that will provide quality services
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of coding exams and screening assessments to assist recruiters in hiring staff
- Perform final editing and review of QA reports and assist with QA as needed
- Approve of all timesheets for coding & audit staff
- Review and/or prepare client billing information for division services and forward to Supervisor for final approval
- Prepare and conduct annual evaluations of coders performance, as directed by HR
- Comply with policies regarding the use and disclosure of protected health information which includes accessing and using protected health information only to the extent necessary to fulfill the above-mentioned responsibilities
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes impacting coding requirements and ensure audit staff are appropriately educated
- Other duties as assigned
Ideal candidate will possess the following:
- CPC Certification through AAPC required
- CPMA Certification a plus
- Prior experience as a Coding Supervisor; remote environment is a plus
- High level of coding expertise
- Business management skills
- Knowledge of the health care industry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Coding software and computer skills in Microsoft Office and products Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to interact with management personnel
- Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines
- Proven ability to prioritize
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Baccalaureate degree in business or management or associate degree with comparative business experience is preferred
