CCC has an immediate, full-time position available for a Supported Employment Specialist responsible for assisting clients in obtaining and maintaining employment that is consistent with their vocational goals and takes into consideration their individual strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences. These in-person services are provided throughout Ashtabula County.
This position is eligible for a signing bonus of up to $1000.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent with 3 years of experience in the mental health, social services, vocational services, and/or business field is required; an associate's or bachelor’s degree with prior mental health, social services, vocational services, and/or business field experience is preferred. Experience working with people with severe and persistent mental illness, emotional disabilities, and/or substance use disorders preferred. Experience working with people with criminal backgrounds, and experience in rehabilitation services delivery, job training, job development, and/or job placement services a plus.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: LSW a plus. The position does requires a valid driver’s license (driving infractions within the last three (3) years subject to insurance carriers guidelines) and no drug, theft or felony charges. Reliable transportation; and adequate levels of insurance and insurability are required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Two to five years’ experience preferred, but will also train to work with adults with severe and persistent mental illness, and/or chemical dependency barriers.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: The position requires the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients and significant others; the ability to function as part of an organization by working with others and by adhering to established policies and procedures; and the ability to assemble meaningful information in order to draw valid conclusions. The position requires ability to work independently as well as cooperatively, reliably and dependably, and the ability to manage available resources to carry out assigned tasks. This position requires training in First Aid, CPR and De-escalation techniques (training is provided).
DESCRIPTION: Carries out the services of the IPS Supported Employment (SE) program by assisting clients in obtaining and maintaining employment that is consistent with their vocational goals and takes into consideration their individual strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences. Responsible for provision of necessary services to adults with severe and persistent mental illness, and/or chemical dependency barriers, who may also have legal obstacles to overcome, to help resolve or minimize effects of their impairment(s) during job search or work activities and can include one or more of the following employment activities: vocational planning/assessment; training (work & personal); job seeking skills training; job development/placement; job coaching; individualized supports; benefits planning; general consultation, advocacy, and building/maintaining relationships with employers; IPS SE; rehabilitation guidance and counseling; and time unlimited vocational support. Provision of these services will help lead a person to a job of their choosing, increase self-sufficiency, and further their recovery. Additionally, will apply supported education, using principles similar to supported employment, for clients who express interest in education to advance their employment goals.
