Job Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor oversees team members in skilled trades, such as HVAC, mechanical, carpentry, electric, and plumbing (MEP). Their primary duty is coordinating maintenance for all City of Largo facilities, managing in-house and contracted work on various systems, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, alarm, sprinkler, elevator, and other building systems. This role requires professionalism, effective supervision skills, communication, coaching, mentoring, managing processes, process improvement, tracking budget expenses, strategic and capital planning, and maintaining high customer service standards.
The Supervisor also participates in and coordinates daily work functions and reports to the Facilities Manager.
Hiring Range: $58,156.80 - $66,882.40

Recommends the formulation of department operating procedures, rules, and regulations
Assists in the preparation of annual Capital Improvements Program and Operational budgets for the Facilities Management Division

Obtains quotes for materials and equipment related to repair and maintenance; review and approve service bills

EMERGENCY RESPONSE STATUS: As a condition of employment, City of Largo employees will be required to work as directed during an undeclared and/or a declared emergency. All employees are subject to recall around the clock for emergency response operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the normal work location, and may include duties other than those specified in the official job description.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) and five (5) years of experience as a maintenance technician or equivalency of training and experience
Some college preferred
At least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory capacity, including one (1) year experience in direct customer service relations
Obtain a Facilities Maintenance Professional (FMP) certification from the International Facility Management Association within two (2) years of hire
Valid Driver's License
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work Environment: 80% inside a climate-controlled building and 20% outside, which may include driving.
Physical Requirements: The essential functions of the job require sitting approximately three (3) hours per day, standing approximately three (3) hours per day, and walking approximately two (2) hours per day. The job also requires frequent bending/stooping, climbing, grasping, and reaching, with lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 15 pounds; occasional pulling, pushing, and lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 44 pounds; and, on rare occasions crawling, fine manipulations, kneeling, repetitive motion, and lifting/carrying objects weighing more than 45 pounds.
Sensory Requirements: Hearing: Enough to understand what others are saying in normal conversation in person or on the telephone. Speaking: Enough to communicate orally with others and speak effectively on the phone. Seeing: Enough to see and read computer monitor screens, operate a vehicle, and read documents.
Driving Requirements: Requires occasional driving and possession of a valid Florida Driver's License.
Technology: The work requires the ability to operate telephones, smartphones, tablets, photocopiers, printers, desktop and laptop computers, calculators, and all associated software. It also requires proficiency with computer hardware and software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications, internet applications, and database management.
