Description:
Senior Cost Accountant will report to the Cost Accounting Manager and will perform the day-to-day responsibilities below.

Either preparing or overseeing the preparation of journal entries, and analysis for various aspects of JIB/Cost Accounting including but not limited to the following:

Review with field operations of LOE/Capital entries to be billed out during monthly Joint Interest Billing (JIB) process. Prepare reclass and/or correcting journal entries.

LOE accrual end to end process. Work closely with field operations personnel to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Analysis, review, recording and accrual of non-operated LOE expenses from EnergyLink/JIBLink, mailed in and emailed operator invoices. Coding & mapping accounts, property numbers, BA numbers and review accuracy of division of interest percentages.

Recording of monthly payroll, vehicle mileage, saltwater disposal, insurance entries.

Oversee monthly JIB processing and ensure gross, cutback and net accounts are matching expected results.

Assist with supervision and review of offshore cost accountant’s work product to ensure accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.

Liaison between property tax consultants and TGNR accounts payable on annual Ad Valorem Taxes.

Assist with year-end budgeting process.

Assist with any other areas regarding LOE, Capital and G&A expenses, entries and tasks as needed.
Requirements:
5 years of upstream oil and gas experience (upstream business) with an understanding of Cost and Operational Accounting.- Experience with oil and gas accounting system; Quorum is preferred but not required.
- Ability to identify and analyze accounting and financial reporting questions and develop solutions responsive to those questions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, and the public.
- Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex financial information into an organized and presentable manner.
- Outstanding administrative and organizational skills.
- Required: Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with CPA certified or pursuing CPA with at least two subjects passed.
