Our nationally recognized residential mortgage team is looking to add an experienced and reliable Pre-Approval specialist to the sales team as loan volume increases. Our assistants play a key role in supporting the team to facilitate the loan process for our clients and helping us offer them a concierge-type experience.
We are looking for candidates with extensive mortgage background, who have worked as an Underwriter or a Processor in the past (or currently).
The ideal candidate will be people-oriented, well-organized, and an effective task manager. Successful candidates will operate with incredible attention to detail and perform well under pressure. The ideal candidate will have a desire to learn the mortgage industry, and be able to adapt to quickly changing priorities.

Pre-Approval Specialist Responsibilities:
- Review client's goals and expectations
- Follow up on additional items that may be needed with each client
- Calculate the borrower's income, assets, downpayment scenarios, etc.
- Run automated underwrite systems (AUS) like DU and LP
- Complete the Deal-Killer Checklist on every pre-approval
- Review and analyze all potential loan programs
- Deliver professional pre-approval results presentation to the borrower
- Consult the client about rates, terms, closing costs, and/or financial options
- Maintain the company/team's CRM with accurate and clear information about each client. Complete a Pre-approval summary on every file.
- Call/email/text the cleint's Real Estate Agent after every pre-approval to update them on the client's status
- One hour of outbound calling/dialing per day.
Desirable Language Skills :
Knowledge of Russian and/or Ukrainian language is a great bonus skill for this role and our team. Other languages are also highly desirable.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Mortgage Industry
- Mortgage Processor or Underwriter background is highly desirable for this role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to calculate income for W2 employees, self-employed borrowers
- Excellent knowledge of mortgage underwriting guidelines
- Proficient in DU/DO, LP & Major Origination Systems
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience in mortgage, finance, banking, or real estate
