Markesman Group is currently seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Network Engineer to join our team in the Annapolis Junction/Linthicum, MD area. The Senior Network Engineer will play a crucial role in maintaining the operability, security, and efficiency of our systems and servers, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and procedures. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of both Windows and Linux environments, along with expertise in networking, virtualization, and system administration.
Functional and Connectivity Testing: Conduct functional and connectivity testing to ensure the ongoing operability of systems and servers.
Standard Operating Procedures: Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures to facilitate consistent and efficient operations.
System Security: Maintain baseline system security according to organizational policies, implementing STIG hardening recommendations where necessary.
Account Management: Manage accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment, ensuring proper authorization and authentication mechanisms are in place.
Data Redundancy and Recovery: Plan, execute, and verify data redundancy and system recovery procedures to mitigate the risk of data loss and ensure business continuity.
Systems Installation and Troubleshooting: Install, update, and troubleshoot systems and servers, resolving hardware and operating system issues promptly.
Policy Enforcement: Implement and enforce local network usage policies and procedures to maintain network integrity and security.
Resource Management: Manage system and server resources, including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability, to optimize operational efficiency.
Configuration Monitoring: Monitor and maintain system and server configurations to ensure compliance with organizational standards and requirements.
Hardware Repairs: Perform repairs on faulty system and server hardware, coordinating with vendors for replacement parts if necessary.
Interoperability Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot hardware/software interface and interoperability problems, resolving issues to minimize disruptions to operations.
