RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Lead Commissioning Engineer to help our clients in the Mid-Atlantic Region. This is a Full-Time, Direct-Hire, Remote position with our client.
Overview of YOUR role as a Lead Commissioning Engineer
As a Lead Commissioning Engineer your primary responsibility is to oversee the commissioning process, which involves testing, inspecting, and certifying systems, equipment, and facilities to ensure they meet design specifications and operational requirements.
As a Lead Commissioning Engineer YOU will:
- Ensure that engineering, construction, and operational impact of our work are minimized.
- Helping clients properly estimate the hours or cost to perform work or provide oversight for onsite testing.
- Continuously review and understand industry and client standards, trends, and leading-edge technologies.
- Project Commissioning: Develop, Design, Execution, Planning, Execute, and Closeout
- On-site Commissioning: Electrical Testing: Apparatus, Insulation, and Relay Testing
- System Checks: Wire Checks and System Functioning
- Operational Readiness: Pre-Energization Checks and Initial Energization
- Review Blocking and Outage Plans: Review and provide for safety and operational concerns. Including Input to switch orders which will have one of the largest impacts
YOU are the ideal Lead Commissioning Engineer if you have:
- BS Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years experience of Substation Engineering or Electrical System Testing and Commissioning
- 5 years of Leadership, team lead or project management experience.
- Ability to train Entry Level Engineers
- Ability to travel to Client Sites in the Mid-Atlantic Region is needed for this role (PA, NJ, DE, MD, and D.C.).
It’s a BONUS if you have:
- 5 years of experience in Testing Relays is highly preferred.
- Utility Industry Experience is strongly preferred.
- FE License is a plus.
- PE License is a plus.
