General Responsibilities
Corsair Consulting LLC is seeking qualified candidates for a geotechnical engineer-in-training position. The selected candidate will perform geotechnical engineering and consulting services for transportation, energy and other infrastructure projects in Texas and other states. S/he will be exposed to advanced and complex geotechnical engineering work. Assigned work may include performing and/or leading field investigations, engineering analyses, calculations, recommendations, observation and inspection, and report writing. S/he will prepare proposals and cost estimates, and track and evaluate project progress and budgets.
Essential Role and Responsibilities
· Maintain quality standards on all projects.
· Assist in developing the scope of work for routine projects.
· Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, and other project related documents.
· Conduct, coordinate or supervise geotechnical field investigations.
· Evaluate and reduce geotechnical laboratory data including consolidation, unconfined compression, triaxial compression, etc.
· Develop, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work.
· Analyze data and perform engineering calculations and analyses such as bridge foundations (drilled shaft, pile, etc.), retaining walls including MSE wall, soil nailed wall, drilled shaft wall, sheet pile wall, etc.), pavement structures, slope stabilities, etc.
· Make design recommendations, adaptations and modifications for PE review.
· Interact with client and project team in developing scope and for project progress.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
· Minimum 0-2 year experience.
· Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred.
· Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
. Strong communication and organization skills.
. Proficiency in geotechnical software such as Slide, Settle, Slope/W, LPile, Shaft, MSEW, etc. is preferred.
. Candidates must be currently located in the USA.
