Position:
While experiencing a stable revenue stream over the last 5-year period, the company is implementing a growth strategy for the rest of 2024 & 2025, making this position a key position critical to success for the and an important strategic addition to our company. There will be opportunities for growth both in the areas of financial reward and positional influence in the company. We currently have and inside sales position (PT) and an office manager who handles quote writing part-time. We are seeking a full-time, experienced individual familiar with the South Florida market to develop outside sales for our company.
Keys to success in this role will be an understanding of the roofing industry specifically in commercial and new home construction, an ability to build and maintain relationships with key decision makers, and the ability to build a sales/revenue portfolio from the ground up. This will be a fast-paced environment with most of your time spent outside the office developing relationships, developing quotes and sales strategies, performing inspections, and general client consultation in larger projects.
Overview:
As a roofing salesperson, you will be responsible for promoting and selling roofing products and services to residential and commercial clients. You will play a crucial role in generating leads, assessing customer needs, providing estimates, and closing sales deals. This position requires a combination of sales skills, technical knowledge of roofing systems, and excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Sales and Lead Generation:
- Prospect and generate new leads through various channels such as cold calling, networking, and referrals.
- Follow up on leads and inquiries promptly to assess customer needs and qualify potential opportunities.
- Utilize CRM tools and sales software to track leads, manage opportunities, and report on sales activities.
- Customer Consultation:
- Conduct on-site assessments and inspections to evaluate roof condition and customer requirements.
- Provide detailed explanations of roofing products, materials, and services to educate customers and address their concerns.
- Proposal Development:
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates and proposals based on customer specifications and project requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams (estimators, project managers) to ensure proposals meet technical and operational standards.
- Negotiation and Closing:
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with customers to secure sales agreements.
- Close sales and obtain signed contracts or purchase orders, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through regular communication and excellent service.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Market and Product Knowledge:
- Stay updated on industry trends, roofing technologies, and competitor products to effectively position company offerings.
- Attend trade shows, conferences, and networking events to expand industry knowledge and promote company services.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in the roofing or construction industry.
- Strong understanding of roofing systems, materials, and installation techniques.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet sales targets.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field is a plus).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb ladders and roofs, as needed, to conduct inspections.
- Comfort with working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.

- Base salary plus commission structure based on sales performance.
