This position reports to and assists the Accounting Manager. The Senior Accountant must exhibit a high level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times, as well as provide excellent customer service to our internal and external customers. The key accounting functions of the position include journal entry preparation, month end close, financial statement analysis, and account reconciliations. The Senior Accountant must be able to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines and have good communication skills.
Responsibilities and Duties
o Assists with month-end, quarterly and year-end close processes and meet all deadlines.
o Analyze and review financial statements for accuracy of profit and loss and balance sheet statements for multiple branches. Make recommendations on areas of risk and opportunities where required.
o Reconcile various balance sheet accounts and research/resolve reconciling items.
o Prepare standard general ledger, accrual, and allocation journal entries.
o Cross train and support for accounts payable.
o Review and approve accounts payable invoices for accurate coding.
o Research and provide explanations for variances and fluctuations in general ledger accounts.
o Identify and implement recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures.
o Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
o Willingness to participate in ad hoc projects, assignments, and reporting.
o Willingness to grow in knowledge, responsibilities and advancement as the team grows.
o Maintain various accounting projects while continuing regular duties.
o Provide guidance and direction to junior accountants.
o Communicate/collaborate/present with/to senior management.
o Manage and lead junior accountants for the MoM, Actual to Budget SG&A analysis.
o Provide gross receipts to branches for business license renewals.
o Assist with internal/external audit request.
o Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Knowledge, Experience
o Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required or a related field
o Minimum of 5 years accounting experience
o Solid knowledge of accounting principles including accruals, Balance Sheet, and Profit & Loss Statements
o Mortgage experience preferred but not required

o Ability to review, analyze and interpret information as well as trouble-shoot to solve problems.
o Ability to understand and apply accounting procedures.
o Preferably proficient with Oracle Cloud Software.
Technology Proficiencies
o Internet Explorer
o Proficient in using MS Office Suite (Excel and Teams a must), 10-key by touch,
o Oracle experience a plus
