PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Lead all Quality activities end-to-end within the plant Ottawa to assure:
● The safety of TT-products
● The satisfaction of our customers,
● A systematic elimination of costs of non-quality during production, commissioning and product life cycle,
● A reduction of costs of quality (quality control)
Support the implementation of a continuous improvement culture.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
● Lead a team of Quality and EHS associates to achieve company vision and objectives in Safety, Quality, Sustainability, Delivery, and Cost.
● Manage and maintain the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) encompassing ISO:9001, ISO:14001, and OHSAS:18001
● Support and share good practices on product and processes with the other plants producing terminal tractors
● Plan, implement and control annual budget for the function within the plant
● Assure personal development and motivation of team members
● Define, communicate and implement Quality strategy as well as an annual roadmap aligned with involved/affected parties to support Kalmar QEHS strategy as well divisional targets (e.g. Hoshin Kanri)
● Monitor and communicate with leading and lagging KPI the implementation of the strategy as well as the related operational results (e.g. Hoshin Kanri)
● Monitor plant lagging and leading KPIs and improvement actions and communicate them on a monthly basis (e.g. Quality policy deployment)
● Propose and implement changes to improve our business processes
● Assure the robustness of the problem-solving within the plant and the sharing of good practices with the other plants.
● Lead Safety Committee and ensure the company is following EHS regulations
● Liaise with all heads of departments at site to ensure safe working practice throughout the company
Supplier quality: Assure supplier quality assurance and a robust claim and recovery management towards suppliers
Production quality:
● Assure an optimal performance of quality controls along the production process until gold-sticker.
● Support production in improving the first-time-right rate
● Analyze regularly results of production process
● Reduce systematically costs of non-quality and of quality
Customer quality:
● Analyze regularly the results of commissioning reports (PRI) and warranty data to set up improvement plans.

Management system:
● Assure the re-certification of the plant and division according to the needed standards (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS:18001)
● Maintain and improve the management system
● Perform needed audits as well as needed reviews (e.g. management review)
● Train the norms’ requirements in the plants and division to increase awareness
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education
● Education level needs to be University Degree, Master of Science (M.Sc.) or similar experience.
Experience
● Min.5-10 years professional experience in management position (global/regional)
● Solid knowledge of operations and business processes world-wide
● Strong experience in operations environment and with external stakeholders
● Seasoned lean manager
● Strong experience in training and coaching
● Strong experience in leading cross-functional improvement projects
Competencies
● Solid knowledge and experience from using Quality and LEAN tools such as A3/8D, 5S, Safety Walks, FMEA, Kanban, daily management board,...etc
● Six Green Black Belt (Prefered)
● Business- and market mindset.
● Solution and result oriented, accountable
● Strategic capabilities and ability to see helicopter perspective
● Structured, logical and fact based,
● Ability to challenge and effectively influence the organization across divisions
● Team-player and network building, experience of working with people from different background and culture
