JOB DESCRIPTION
- This position reports directly to the Food & Beverage Manager
- Supervise and ensure all guests receive an enjoyable, memorable, and expertly served experience within the Taj Campton Place guidelines and standards of excellence.
- Ensure consistent quality service for all meal periods.
- Must be able to learn of all food and beverage items offered.
- Responsible for ensuring a safe work environment for all associates within the operation.
- Must possess excellent communication and organization skills with superior time management and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking of the English language. The knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
- The ability to lead and train the Food and Beverage employees in conformance to all Taj Luxury policies, procedures, and standards of excellence.
- The ability to conduct performance evaluations and discipline employees when needed.
- The ability to oversee and lead the team in a very hands-on manner, including covering associates breaks and assisting in the hotel operations.
- The ability to create a work environment that is high in associate morale.
- The ability to handle guest problems and complaints, keeping upper management well informed.
- The ability to provide constant learning and development to associates.
- The ability to act in the absence of senior management in all matters concerning the safety, security and well-being of guests, patrons and associates.
Qualifications & Experience
- Must have previous relevant experience in management at an upscale food & beverage operation.
- 2 years’ minimum food & beverage leadership experience.
- Strong people and organizational skills to maintain high service expectations with numerous employees within the outlets, In-Room Dining, Restaurant, Bistro & Bar and Banquets.
- Must uphold the reputation of Taj Campton Place and the Taj brand by adhering to all brand standards.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work in a fast paced and demanding work environment.
- The position calls for the ability to work flexible hours, including AM/PM, late night and weekends.
- Food safety and Responsible Beverage Service certification required or must be attained upon hire.
