Job description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate II to join our dynamic team focused on developing and optimizing an isothermal amplification method for point-of-care diagnostics. This role will involve conducting experiments, optimizing protocols, and validating results to enhance the sensitivity, specificity, and usability of our diagnostic assays. The ideal candidate will have a chemistry or biology background, with a passion for translating research findings into practical applications for point of care.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct literature research and experiments to investigate biochemical processes and molecular mechanisms.
- Perform and optimize Seek Labs isothermal amplification method and conduct quantitative PCR (qPCR) assays when needed.
- Prepare solutions and materials for experiments, that may include the handling of hazardous chemicals.
- Analyze experimental data using various techniques and software to draw conclusions and make recommendations to leadership for review and consideration.
- Create clear and informative slides summarizing experimental results, methodologies, and conclusions.
- Deliver presentations to team members, management, or other research teams to communicate research findings, methodologies, and implications effectively.
- Maintain detailed records of experiments, procedures, and results in accordance with industry standards.
- Adhere to company guidelines, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a biology or chemistry related field
- 1-2 years of biochemical research and laboratory experience (includes undergraduate research)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic research environment
- Experience with common biological techniques such as, gel electrophoresis and qPCR
Preferred
- Knowledge of isothermal amplification techniques (e.g., LAMP, RPA, HDA)
