Job Overview
RL Canning is seeking a Modern Workplace Engineer to join our Managed Services team. As a Modern Workplace Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing solutions for our clients using Microsoft technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience with utilizing Microsoft tools for Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) including Intune, EntraID, Azure, Azure Virtual Desktop, Widows365, and M365. In addition to this experience, candidates should possess strong PowerShell scripting capabilities.
In this role, you will
- T roubleshoot and resolve client issues related to the Microsoft stack.
- P rovide technical support and collaborate with both internal and external engineering teams to deploy best practices.
- Support multiple projects involving Intune, EntraID, Azure, Azure Virtual Desktop, Widows365, and M365.
- M igrate clients to fully Intune-managed endpoints and services, focusing on optimizing performance, and end-point security.
- Monitor the health & performance of the client applications and infrastructure and make suggestions for improving efficiency.
- Support the day-to-day engineering activities of all Intune policies & controls, endpoint configurations, peripherals, and connectors as they relate to the Microsoft Azure/Intune Product suite.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to endpoint management, application deployment, and user configurations.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation, configuration, and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with customers and service delivery leaders to define and implement modern workplace strategies.
- Lead or contribute to technology discussions, speak confidently and concisely to items related to your technology, and help lead other technology teams to a common solution.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices to continually enhance the workplace environment.
- Create and maintain documentation for supported technologies including diagrams, SOPs, end-user guides, & technology runbooks.
- Ensuring compliance across all Intune-managed devices and creating appropriate exception reporting to quickly identify areas of non-compliance.
- Create and maintain technology-related documents and review recommended best practices to aid in continuous improvement.
- Contribute to current and future product development.
- Lead and execute technology and platform implementations and migrations.
- Provide escalated technical support and training for Tier I and Tier II technical personnel.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing service delivery, and automating manual processes.
- Provide timely, effective, clear, and concise communications.
- Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches to reduce overhead associated with manual processes.

For this role, you will need
- 2-4 years’ Engineering-level experience with Microsoft Intune, Azure, and Windows-based applications such as M365, Teams, etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Intune software administration, device configuration profiles, app protection policies, app configurations, compliance, conditional access policies, PowerShell, custom roles, storage containers, EntraID, and automation features.
- Ability to work well in a dynamic team environment while at the same time being able to work independently to complete deliverables often with tight deadlines.
- Ability to work well under pressure and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation and management tasks.
- Experience with other Microsoft 365 services and solutions.
- Familiarity with endpoint security solutions and practices.
- Knowledge of mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM).
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator, or similar preferred.
- Working knowledge of Teams, Teams Voice, SharePoint, & Copilot is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
Must be willing to travel.
