Brief Description:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a variety of financial tasks crucial to the period-end close, including preparing and reviewing manual journal entries, reconciling Balance Sheet accounts, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. This position will also assist with preparing financial statements, verify financial records and transactions, analyzing cash flow, review budgets and forecast and support the paperwork development for regulatory reporting.
The position reports directly to the Director of Corporate Accounting.

Detailed Description:
- Prepare and maintain supporting calculations and schedules for assigned monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries as part of the period end closing process.
- Provide support and explanations to both internal and external auditors as requested.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls for assigned tasks.
- Participate in monthly / quarterly / annual closing activities.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
- Assess current accounting operations, offer recommendations for improvement, and implement new processes.
- Evaluate accounting and internal control processes and systems.
- Complete ad hoc requests for numerous departments including but not limited to External Reporting, Operations Finance, and other SG&A Selling, General and Administration (SG&A) workstreams.
- Collaborate with other accountants and cross-functional department team members.
- Manage and negotiate ongoing vendor services and support service level agreements.
- Promptly address and resolve concerns and disputes among team members, with the goal of building a stronger, more cohesive work group.
- Perform other related duties as assigned (including special projects).

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field of study.
- 5+ years’ experience as an accountant in progressively responsible positions.
- 3+ years’ of experience working for a publicly traded company in an accounting or for a Big4 in an audit role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completed Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) program or recognized equivalent and achieved designation.
- SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily in a climate controlled / office environment with minimal safety / health hazard potential. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
