Position Summary:
The Vice President (VP) of Operations is part of the CarePoint Health Senior Leadership Team and has responsibility and authority for the administrative direction, evaluation, and coordination of the functions and activities for assigned groups within CarePoint Health. The role is responsible for ensuring operative objectives and results are in accordance with CarePoint Health’s overall needs. The VP of Operations assists in the growth and ongoing operational success of the company’s business initiatives, leads collaborative efforts with healthcare partners on strategic and operational issues, and provides oversight and guidance to service lines. The VP of Operations works alongside physician leadership, and reports to a member of the Chief Executive Team.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Master’s degree in business administration or healthcare administration from an accredited university.
Experience:
- At least five years’ leadership experience in healthcare.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of physician practice management.
- Excellent leadership skills with proven ability to earn trust, establish productive relationships and effectively lead change.
- Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences in small and large group settings.
- Ability to set and maintain high standards of performance, develop people, work with teams and establish accountability.
- Strong financial skills with ability to:
- Evaluate current and previous financial data.
- Prepare reports and projections based on financial data.
- Use software to analyze financial information, identify trends, measure performance, and prepare and communicate results.
- Knowledge of related regulatory and compliance requirements.

Job Responsibilities:
- Oversees assigned programs and service lines including responsibility for operations, financial management, business development, recruitment, and strategic planning.
- Collaborates with hospitals and health systems on service line strategies and program development including the management and negotiation of hospital contracts for service agreements, stipends, medical directorships, and call coverage arrangements.
- Explores and oversees new business development opportunities including developing financial projections and overall project plans for new initiatives.
- Advises and collaborates with medical directors on initiatives, improvements, and daily operations.
- Works with revenue cycle management to ensure optimal coding, reimbursement, and overall successful revenue cycle operations.
- Participates in the annual budget process and review budget to actual performance for assigned areas.
- Manages the profit and loss performance of assigned divisions, including expense management and overall financial forecasting.
- Analyzes operating divisions’ effectiveness and productivity and makes recommendations and/or changes as appropriate.
- Effectively hires, manages, motivates, mentors, and formally evaluates the performance of all direct reports.
- Supervises Directors and Managers and supports the management of day-to-day program operations including matters related to payroll, credentialing, human resources, hiring, and terminations.
- Serves as a strategic partner to the Chief Executive Team and Medical Directors to develop, communicate, and execute initiatives.
- Uses professional expertise to analyze business and industry conditions and strategically advises on potential impact, risk, or opportunity to the organization.
- Participates in the design and implementation of learning and professional development programs.
- Provides executive coaching to physicians and employees as directed.
- Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability.
- Other duties as assigned.
