Position Summary
Intellicor International Academy seeks a creative, committed, and clear-minded professional to serve as an elementary teacher who will work to implement the curriculum and will assist students to achieve their maximum potential.
Educational Requirements
A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is strongly preferred.
The degree should be of a related subject from an accredited university.
Qualifications and Experience
At least 2 years of experience in elementary teaching.
Valid Standard Teacher Certification or Certification eligible.
Endorsements for subject/level assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Prepares lesson plans and instructional materials.
· Instructs children the standard elementary subjects: reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, and science.
· Assists in teaching art, ICT, and other Intellicor curriculum courses and learning activities.
· Utilizes a variety of instructional strategies, such as Direct instruction, Adapting to learning styles/multiple intelligences, Cooperative learning, Discovery/Inquiry-based learning, etc., in order to adapt the curriculum to each student’s needs.
· Establishes and maintains classroom management standards that are required to achieve successful learning experiences.
· Evaluates and monitors students' academic performance.
· Monitors students’ psychological functioning.
· Keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports.
· Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the elementary teaching field.
· Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
· Performs a variety of tasks.
· Works under general supervision; typically reports to the principal.
· A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
