Job Title: Transmission Manager

Duties:

Drive the interconnection process and transmission evaluation for utility scale renewable energy projects such as Wind, Solar, and Storage within a specified regional transmission organization (RTO) or broader interconnection region.
- Assist Engineering and Construction teams with understanding interconnection requirements, costs, limitations, schedules, and fatal flaw analysis.

Support mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and greenfield development of prospective projects and divestments, including congestion risk and transmission interconnections.

Develop interconnection relationships and market awareness for Wind and Solar assets into commercial operations throughout life of asset.

Provide expertise for one or more regions’ RTO and independent system operator (ISO) tariffs, guides, and working groups that cover both technical regulatory and power market regulatory issues.

Submit and support generation interconnection queue requests representing the company’s portfolio.

Support Engineering and Construction of projects through execution phase.

Partner with Asset Management in ongoing operational activities of completed projects.

Provide assistance to Origination in offtake negotiations and timelines related to interconnection.

Provide ad hoc assessments of potential acquisitions and divestments.

Requires up to 30% domestic travel.
Requirements:

Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in electrical engineering, energy systems engineering, or related field; plus 3 years of experience in job offered or as an interconnection/network planning engineer.

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience accepted in the alternative.

Experience with Powerflow software (PSS/E, PowerWorld, and/or PSLF); and power system studies for connecting new projects to the electric grid, including power flow and/or short circuit.
