Catering Sales Manager
Basic Purpose and Objective of the Position: To effectively position the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort – Convention Center as the key resort destination for catering events by planning, soliciting, booking and coordinating meetings and catering functions. Achieve annual planned food and beverage revenue.
Job Duties and Requirements:
May be required to work weekends and evenings pertaining to you Events schedule.
· Achieve/exceed planned revenues in food and beverage, meeting room and audio visual rentals.
· Conduct 10-20 or more personal sales calls monthly.
· Conduct 5-10 or more phone calls daily.
· Solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through various efforts (telemarketing, mailing, referrals, etc.). Maximize room and catering revenue to meet/exceed goals.
· Plan, up sell and detail the meeting/function with the client. Including space requirements, times, equipment, menus, billing instructions, etc. Responsible for all in-house activities ensuring events are set and handled according to the meeting planner’s guidelines.
· Complete contracts and prepare the appropriate paperwork.
· Maintain accurate, legible records and files to provide group history ensure future and current quality service and enhance future prospectus.
· Participate in community and professional organizations to maintain high visibility and promote sales.
· Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned and participate in task forces and committees.
· Up sells catering menus items to achieve maximum food revenue per event.
· Assists in review of lost business reports.
· Delphi System-Enter and audit files; audit holds and generate weekly report of holds in system.
· Coordinate with all departments of hotel to assure “4 Star” service to clients during/after booking process.
Key Markets:
· Aggressively solicits catering business, holiday parties, seminars, in conjunction with, meetings and events.
· Develop and solicit the corporate & social markets.
Requirements:
Ideal candidate must be a self-starter, have strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritization, critical thinking/analytical skills, and possess at least 3-5 years of experience in the position of hotel Catering Sales Manager. This position requires knowledge of food & beverage and banquet service. Ability to effectively communicate (written & verbal) with customers and staff in a professional, clear, and positive manner. Computer literate in Word and Excel software applications. Delphi & Delphi Diagrams experience is preferred.
