Position Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of nursing care for patients. Responsible for professional nursing care and related telephonic assistance to patients/families. The RN serves as a patient advocate and educator, providing health and wellness teaching while collaborating with other members of the healthcare team to promote successful patient outcomes.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administers immunizations.
- Responsible for packing and unpacking of supplies and immunizations for offsite immunization clinics.
- Responsible for keeping inventory and storage management of immunizations.
- Implements physicians’ orders, perform treatments, start IVs, administer medications, and interpret special tests.
- Administers direct care to injured, disabled, ill, or convalescent patients.
- Implements and develops nursing care plans.
- Counsel patients and family members on disease prevention and health maintenance.
- Educates patients about their medical conditions and treatment plans.
- Prepare rooms and medical equipment and decontaminate instruments.
- Communicates barriers and patient’s health needs to the appropriate provider.
- Interprets reports data and medical information to determine the needs of the patient/family.
- Provides medication management teaching as necessary.
- Accurately documents all patient interactions utilizing the electronic healthcare record (EHR).
- Complies with all Variety Care policies, including those related to safety, privacy, confidentiality and security of information.
- Actively supports Variety Care Mission Statement, patient care standards and customer service standards.
- Participates in organizational focus groups as assigned.
- Participates in clinic wide initiatives and staff training, as assigned.

Requirements, Special Skills or Knowledge:
- Active Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
- Expert communication and interpersonal skills.

- Bilingual (English/Spanish).

- Able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
- Able to sit/stay at desk for extended periods of time.
