Responsibilities:
- Perform ophthalmic diagnostic tests and measurements, including visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and corneal topography.
- Assist ophthalmologists in various procedures such as eye exams, surgeries, and laser treatments.
- Administer eye drops and medications as directed by the physician.
- Educate patients on proper eye care and post-operative instructions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical record systems such as Epic.
- Clean and sterilize ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of ophthalmic supplies.
Requirements:
- Will travel from all 3 of our Valley locations; Scottsdale, Glendale, and Mesa.
- Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or similar role preferred.
- Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment and diagnostic tests.
- Familiarity with infection control protocols in a healthcare setting.
- Proficient in performing suture removals and assisting with minor surgical procedures.
- Strong patient care skills and ability to provide compassionate care to patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
- Understanding of ocular anatomy, physiology, and common eye conditions.
- Experience working in an ambulatory surgery center is a plus.
- Excellent data collection and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work in clinic as a technician during down times in the surgery dept.
