King County Parks is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to join a dynamic team dedicated to public engagement and enhancing the quality of life in the region. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to environmental stewardship and collaborate within a supportive organizational culture.
About the Role:
We are looking for an Assistant Operations Manager to help manage the daily operations and oversight of the Parks Operations Section. This section is responsible for maintaining over 200 parks, regional and backcountry trail systems, regional programs and facilities, as well as managing grounds, trades, and vegetation across King County. The Assistant Operations Manager will support the Operations Manager by enhancing coordination, communication, and program effectiveness among the supervisory and operations staff. The Parks Operations Section includes approximately 150 full-time staff and 150 + temporary employees.
This position performs work remotely and onsite each week.

Working Conditions:
Remote and Onsite Work Details: Employees in this role will be expected to physically report onsite to a Parks location each week. Remote work from home may also occur but will be based on business need. The frequency of onsite work is determined by business needs and may be adjusted accordingly. This position may be required to report to work after hours or on weekends when business needs dictate.-
Remote Work Location Requirement: Employees must reside in Washington State and be within a reasonable distance to King County worksites to meet onsite reporting requirements.

Work Location: Temporary onsite reporting location is Marymoor Park until the Central Maintenance Facility in Renton is constructed. Once construction is complete (sometime in 2025) the primary reporting location will be 3005 NE 4th Ave, Renton WA.

Work Schedule: This full-time position works a 40-hour work week. This position is exempt from the overtime provision of the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) and is not overtime eligible.
