Job Duties:
- Meet department fees & profit goals
- Develop, monitor, manage project budgets and schedules, coordinating staff assignments
- Business Development
- Coordination with clients to define work programs and budgets, including project execution, general oversight and planning, and project coordination
- Experience managing and mentoring junior engineers
- Proven track record of managing budgets on-time
- Experience interfacing with clients
- Experience delivering innovative & cost-effective solutions to clients
- Participates in conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks. These tasks may include collection and analysis of data using established procedures, performance of routine calculations, and participation in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions
- Prepares sections of reports working under the close review of chief geotechnical engineers
- Participates on projects involving construction activities by assisting in recordkeeping and in generating progress reports; observes relatively simple construction procedures and collects samples for quality control testing
- Performs data acquisition and analysis, researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations
- Prepares material for reports and permit applications, gathering information, writing rough outline, and/or preparing work progression documents and graphic presentations
- Performs engineering calculations
- Performs field observations of construction where appropriate
- Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary
- Maintains minimum productivity rate of 85% and seeks out productive work when needed
Qualifications:
- Master of Science in Geotechnical Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration is a must
- Minimum 12-15 years of experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of geotechnical software (slope stability, settlement, deep foundations, finite element modeling, etc.) preferred
- Experience with Department of Transportation work preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite products and engineering programs
- Variety of completed projects demonstrating knowledge across the field of engineering
- Experience on large and small projects
Salary
