Position Overview: We are seeking a dependable and organized individual to join our team as a Warehouse/Driver. The primary responsibilities of this role include handling warehouse duties efficiently and safely, as well as driving company vehicles for transportation purposes. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, excellent driving record, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warehouse Operations:
- Receive, unload, and store incoming inventory items in designated areas.
- Ensure accurate inventory counts through regular stock checks and reconciliation.
- Prepare orders for shipment by picking, packing, and labeling items appropriately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse space.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Assist in conducting regular inventory audits and reporting any discrepancies.
- Driving:
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
- Follow all traffic laws and company driving policies to ensure safety on the road.
- Load and unload cargo from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and securement.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, ensuring prompt and courteous interactions with clients.
- General Duties:
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to fulfill orders and meet delivery deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to coordinate daily activities.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, and quality standards.
- Assist in other warehouse tasks or special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience working in a warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management practices.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and operate warehouse equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory tracking.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience driving commercial vehicles or operating forklifts.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety guidelines for commercial driving.
- Familiarity with basic computer applications for inventory management.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions during outdoor deliveries.
