**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Major Gifts Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to cultivate relationships with donors, manage fundraising initiatives, and oversee philanthropic programs.
**Responsibilities:**
- Develop and execute strategic plans to engage donors and increase philanthropic support
- Manage relationships with donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations
- Maintain a portfolio of Major Giving donors/prospects.
- Lead the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and events
- Utilize CRM software to track donor interactions and manage donor data
- Actively manage a portfolio of approximately 50 -75 prospects with specific cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies for each prospect.
- Oversee volunteer management efforts to support fundraising activities
- Conduct estate planning discussions with donors interested in legacy giving
- Implement strategic planning initiatives to drive philanthropic growth
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master's degree preferred
- Proven experience in fundraising, relationship management, and philanthropy
- Knowledge of wills, trusts, and estate law related to charitable giving
- Strong negotiation skills to secure donations and partnerships
- Knowledge of the importance of Lahaina's history and its contemporary role in the Maui community.
- Excellent written communication skills for proposal writing and donor correspondence
- Proficiency in CRM software for donor management
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
