This work is with a firm that handles the negotiation of high-volume non-disclosure agreements. The firm needs help with client-facing work/negotiations.
The Work:
- Reviewing, editing and negotiating-disclosure agreements to align the documents with client guidelines (Note: in some cases, you may handle the document from start to finish; in others, a paralegal may handle the first round redline and you will review their work and handle all client-facing work and rounds thereafter).
- Interacting with clients and counterparties as necessary to finalize documents.
- The first redline must be sent to the counterparty.
- The first redline must be sent to the counterparty within 24 hours of receipt of the original document (but not on weekends); each subsequent redline must be sent to the counterparty within 24 hours of receiving their redline.
- However, there will be a training period in which you will need to send redlines to a more senior firm attorney within 18 hours of receipt (for review and feedback) before it goes out.
- All work will be done remotely; work hours are fairly flexible, so long as timelines are met.
Work Volume/Commitment:
- It will start with around 15-25 documents per month and ramp up over the course of a few months to close to full-time.
- Must be seeking long-term position (at least 2-3 years). Significant training goes into the work, so this only makes sense if there is an interest in ongoing long-term work.
Experience/Skills:
- Active, licensed U.S. attorney
- Experience redlining contracts and interacting with clients (preferable but not required)
- High attention to detail, reliable, strong follow-through with commitments and timing requirements
Starting: As soon as possible
Pay: Varies per client, but generally paid on a per document basis:
- Per document range depending on whether you are handling the document from start to finish or if you are coordinating with a paralegal who handles the initial redline draft
- Note that handling the full document takes around an hour; handling the later rounds (after a paralegal handles the first round) takes about a half hour.
If interested, email:
- (i) your resume
- (ii) a brief email explaining (a) your interest in the work, (b) how many hours per week you are available, (c) whether you are able to turn documents within 24 hours (and within 18 hours at first), and (d) confirming that you are seeking a long-term position; and
*Please note that, if you look like a potential fit, we will have you complete a sample NDA redline based off of NDA guidelines. This is the work you’ll be doing, so this is to gauge if you could do this work on a “rinse repeat” basis indefinitely and gauge fit on our end as well. If you are brought on board, the firm will compensate you for this work. We also keep potential fits on file for bringing on a later time if someone is not brought on initially.
