We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to manage our warehousing and distribution operations. This position will oversee all warehouse operations, including the efficient receipt, storage, value-adding servicing, and shipping of various products.
Responsibilities
- Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision
- Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations
- Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization
- Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
- Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
- Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system
- Liaise with transport companies
- Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, low stock report etc)
- Audit and report inventory while making recommendations on which items to order and restock
- Manage warehouse associates, monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment
- Establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse
Requirements
- Proven work experience as a warehouse manager or in a leadership role
- Good project management skills, including strong decision-making, problem-solving and strategic planning abilities
- Familarity with inventory control practices and logistics
- Comfortable using inventory management software and other organizational computer applications
- Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
- Exceptional time management and organization skills
- Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
- Leadership skills and ability to hire and manage staff
- Strong decision making and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Prior experience in logistics or supply chain management
- Physical Demands: High physical demands can be required. The employee is regularly required to stand for sustained periods of time. The employee can be expected to occasionally lift, push, and pull up to 100 pounds individually and up to 150 pounds as a team. The employee must adhere to safe lifting techniques, follow proper training for learned job hazards and ergonomic risk factors and maintain an overall safe working environment.
Be able to maneuver pallet jacks and a walk-behind forklift.
