Job Description
The Patient Care Coordinator (“coordinator”) is an important role due to it being the first impression patients receive when they arrive. It is critical that he/she maintain a positive mentality and attitude to provide the best experience possible to our patients. This role directly reports to Dr. Holliday and provides support in the administration and operation of the healthcare practice. Due to the demands of the position the coordinator must have critical problem solving skills, be well organized, know how to manage their time effectively, proficient in operating computers, possess excellent oral communication skills, and most importantly be a people person while operating in a high-speed environment.
All necessary trainings will be provided to the coordinator with regards to specific tasks that he/she must be trained on. This includes but is not limited to the DRX-9000 Spinal Decompression machines, EMS shockwave, peizowave therapy, spot cryotherapy and others. In addition, if required, there will be further training focused on the Practice Management Software (PMS) and other systems utilized by Lux Lifestyle Chiropractic.
Role & Responsibilities
The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for interacting with patients in a healthcare setting and managing administrative tasks for the medical team. The duties include scheduling patient appointments according to Doctor availability, explaining intake forms to new patients and processing payments after treatment.
· Greeting & intake of patients (new or existing)
· Scheduling appointments
· Billing patients (taking payment)
· Reviewing/offering financial plans with patients
· Process patient identification and insurance information/verification
· Maintain patient medical records and organize them
· Assist with patient flow
· Answer phones: patient inquiries, insurance, rescheduling, etc
· General administrative support
· Walk patients into treatment rooms and assist Doctor with patient needs
· Set up patients in Spinal Decompression machines
· Administer additional therapies to patients when needed.
Job Requirements
· Previous experience in healthcare, customer service, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory
· Ability to work a dedicated fixed schedule with some flexibility required
· Must be completely fluent and proficient in English and Spanish languages (written & spoken)
· Minimum Associate’s degree preferred but not mandatory
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
