Description:Position Purpose: To support our customers through definition, development and deployment of company process engineering function, including, but not limited to, providing product design aid, tooling/mold design input with complete responsibility for process studies and developing robust manufacturing processes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility to work with New Product Launch Team in development of quality tooling and production processes.
- Responsible to ensure that processes are developed within quoted cycle time and meeting or exceeding customer quality parameters.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining robust injection molding processes for each molding press that job might be produced.
- Responsible to work with Senior Project Engineer to establish plans and continuous improvement goals
- Works with Senior Project Engineer and other management in establishing budgetary needs of department.
- Key part of continuous improvement team with focus on production efficiency, scrap and organization.
- Responsible to established processes and methods for maximum utilization of regrind allowed in our processes as well as cost effective method for grinding press side.
- Responsible to aid reviewing new projects for mold design that allow for efficient processes and ergonomics for our workforce.
- Provides technical guidance to entire company on the most robust methods of plastics processing and process controls.
- Responsible for making sure manufacturing cycles are in line with company IQMS standards and to make improvement as necessary.
- Responsible for providing education/mentoring to other Process Engineers and Set up Technicians.
- Responsible for providing technical support to Quality for NCR and CR actions including help driving root cause analysis and corrective actions for internal quality problems or customer complaints.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area
- Part of team that establishes, implements and audits company injection mold and machinery preventative maintenance program
Requirements:Education:
- Minimum high school diploma
- Preferred college degree in technical discipline or equivalent work experience
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Manufacturing environment including but not limited to process engineering
- Master Molder Certification or equivalent work experience
Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding of plastic design standards
- Proficient in ability to set-up and create robust molding processes
- Working knowledge of CAD
- Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools and data analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Good interpersonal skills both written and verbal
- Ability to make timely fact-based decisions; shows good judgment
- Proficient in the ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings
- Ability to work independently and handle projects to completion
- Ability to oversee and drive projects to profitable completion into production
