We are looking to fulfill the role of a Delivery Route Driver. This position will work a rotating schedule starting at 4am. Candidates will need to be available to work weekdays and the occasional weekends. Experience driving a 16ft - 20ft truck and warehouse work history is preferred but not required and a clean driving record is a must.
Working Schedule:
- Tuesday to Saturday
- Start Time: 4am to 5am
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Drive a 16ft – 20ft refrigerated truck with a lift gate
- Loading, transporting, and delivering products to retail grocery stores and independent customers
- Follow assigned route schedule and deliver products safely in a timely manner
- Follow our company’s and customers’ Covid-19 safety protocols and procedures
- Pull and push multiple U-boats with an estimated weight between 300–800lbs and organize safely and neatly on the trucks
- Reviewing the invoices upon delivery with receiving to ensure all products are correct
- Give constant updates to dispatch during delivery route
- Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record
- Complete a post delivery truck inspection document
- Merchandise the products and stock in specific areas, while following a specific schematic
- Receive and process incoming stock
- Pick, scan, weigh, and load orders according to the pick ticket and organize on a U-boat for the next day’s route schedule (load, pack, wrap, label)
- Organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse, following the FIFO method
- Properly handle perishable food products
- Facility cleaning; bathroom, warehouse, trucks, lunch room, and offices
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
- Performing warehouse inventory controls and keeping quality standards high for audits
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly warehouse documents (temp logs, cooler maintenance, sanitation logs, receiving logs)
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors, coworkers, and customers
- Operating equipment and machinery such as; trucks, forklift, pallet jack etc.
- Handling products returned to the inventory from customers
- Properly disposing of expired products
Requirements:
- No prior experience necessary but a CLEAN driver history is a MUST
- CDL is NOT required
- Standing, walking, bending for majority of the shift
- Ability to lift products 20lbs and above
- Ability to push and pull multiple U-Boats with an estimated weight of 300lbs - 800lbs
- Ability to work a schedule of hours that includes an early morning and day shift
- Weekend and some holiday work is required
- Hand held and electric pallet jack experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proper customer service etiquette
- Minimum age for employment is 18
- High School diploma or GED or Military Service
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
