Job Summary
As a production supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the manufacturing processes on the production floor. Your primary goal will be to ensure that production runs smoothly and efficiently while meeting quality standards and deadlines.
Schedule
Shifts are 10-12 hours and generally start at 5:00 a.m.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Directly oversee the activities of production workers, ensuring they follow GMPs and SSOPs.
· Assign tasks and responsibilities to production staff based on production schedules and priorities. Ensure that workload distribution is fair and efficient.
· Train new employees on production processes, equipment operation, safety protocols, proper ergonomic practices, and quality standards. Provide ongoing training and coaching to existing staff to enhance their skills and performance.
· Set performance expectations for team members and provide feedback on strengths and areas for improvement and implement disciplinary measures when necessary.
· Address production issues and challenges as they arise, working closely with team members to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Encourage proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement among staff.
· Enforce safety policies and procedures to create a safe work environment. Conduct safety inspections, promote safety awareness, and ensure that all team members follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Ensure that staff are using safe ergonomic practices.
· Monitor product quality throughout the production process and enforce quality control standards. Conduct quality inspections, identify defects or deviations, and take corrective actions to maintain high-quality output.
· Foster open communication channels within the production team and with other departments. Keep team members informed about production goals, schedules, and performance expectations. Communicate effectively with management, maintenance, and other stakeholders to coordinate production activities and address issues.
· Address conflicts and interpersonal issues within the production team in a timely and constructive manner. Act as a mediator to resolve disputes and promote a positive work environment.
· Maintain accurate records of production activities, including production output, downtime, scrap rates, and quality metrics. Report findings to Production Manager.
· Identify opportunities for process improvements and productivity enhancements.
Working conditions vary by department but may include:

Physical Requirements
- Standing, lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling, reaching overhead, walking, climbing stairs, fingering, grasping, lifting, feeling, and repetitive motions.
- Wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) and hygiene equipment, including but not limited to steel mesh guards, bump cap/hard hat, steel-toed footwear, hearing protection, smock, and gloves
- Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Minimum Qualifications
- No minimum education requirement
- At least 2 years proven supervisory experience.
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years old
- Must be eligible to work legally in the United States
