About the Position:
As an Electrical Engineer, you will work with the Franklin Engineering team to support a wide variety of design projects to support our clients. You will participate in all aspects of chemical processing and industrial plant design including, power distribution systems, motor controls, industrial lighting, grounding and bonding, hazardous area classification, instrumentation and process controls. You will work with other Franklin engineers of different disciplines to deliver quality designs to support our clients’ success. As a design engineer, you will interact with clients, contractors and vendors during the design process, contractor scope package development and bidding, and project construction and startup support.
Responsibilities:
- Work in multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality designs within budget and timelines
- Provide electrical system design solutions to ensure successful projects
- Develop project documentation and drawings, including but not limited to:
o Power System One-Lines
o Motor and Instrument Control Circuits
o Lighting and Grounding Plans
o Equipment Specifications
o Conduit, tray and cable schedules
o Contractor Scope of Work Packages
- Participate in process, equipment and control design reviews
- Provide project construction and startup support, as needed or requested by client
Essential qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited institution
- 5 – 10 years in electrical power design for construction in industrial facilities
- EIT/FE certificate and actively pursuing PE license
- Strong communication skills
- Detail oriented
Preferred Experience:
- Electrical Constructions Standards (National Electrical Code) knowledge base
- Power Equipment Design (Switchgear, Switchboards, Transformers)
- Power System Models and Studies using commercial software (ETAP, SKM, etc.)
- Commercial and Industrial MEP Design
- Motor Controls and VFDs
- Arc Flash Design and Studies
