A growing psychiatric and addiction health care facility is looking for a full-time medical receptionist for our front desk position that includes checking patients in and verifying insurance and HIPAA forms, patient registration, processing and building charts, and scheduling follow ups. Additional duties include adding in existing and new patients in very busy mental health and addiction clinic to current EMR system. This position also collects copays, deductibles, and may help with taking patient through intake process to prepare for provider.
Responsibilities for Medical Receptionist/Front Desk
- Welcome patients, vendors, pharmaceutical representatives, and other visitors to our medical office.
- Register patients for their appointments.
- Scanning pertinent patient information into EMR including patient authorizations, recent labs delivered by patients.
- Issue specimen collection containers to patients as needed.
- Answer patient questions and provide assistance and directions when necessary.
- Utilize our medical office software to schedule new and follow-up appointments for our patients.
- Verify insurance and HIPAA forms
- Processing and building charts.
- Collects copays, and deductibles.
- May help with taking patient through intake process to prepare for provider.
Qualifications for Medical Receptionist
- 1+ years of experience working as an administrative assistant or in a relevant role.
- Friendly and compassionate disposition.
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT billing codes a plus.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Dedication to maintaining confidentiality of all patient records

We offer 5-8 hour shifts and a typical shift is 930am-630pm with the opportunity for overtime.
