The Urban Ag Assistant position has diverse job duties including physical maintenance of gardens/farms/greenhouses, working with volunteers, and supporting the Community Crops Program's operations. This is a part-time position primarily focused on fieldwork maintaining our program sites that will occasionally be asked to assist with other administrative/event tasks.
PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Program Support
-
Assist with the physical maintenance of all program-affiliated sites (trimming, mowing, etc.)
-
Work with individual and group volunteers to complete program projects and maintenance activities.

Assist with the operation of the greenhouses.
Administrative Duties
-
Participate in agency, program, and partner meetings as assigned as requested.

Partner with other staff to assist the program as needed with administrative tasks.

Promote teamwork through positive communication and interaction.

Maintain a positive, professional, respectful demeanor in all contacts.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365

Ability to compile and maintain reports.

Ability to develop and maintain adequate records.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Ability to effectively manage time, be highly organized and have sharp attention to detail.

A valid driver’s license
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-
High School Diploma or equivalent required
-
Two (2) years experience executing similar program support tasks preferred
OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:
Basic Life Support (CPR) and Basic First Aid certifications are required at the time of employment or to be completed within 60 days of the start of employment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT

Lift 50 to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Lift 20 to 50 pounds regularly without assistance
