Receptionist
Monday-Friday
Hourly rate: $14.59/hour
Basic Functions: Point of contact for all agency provided services, answer agency telephones during normal office hours, field incoming calls and direct them to the proper person/department, take messages, when necessary, greet incoming persons and direct them wherever appropriate, perform clerical duties as assigned and provide support for programs.
Primary Responsbilties:
- Answer the phone system in a timely manner with a pleasant disposition.
- Update the phone message on the phone system whenever necessary.
- Ensure that all participants regardless of race, gender, culture, primary language, or religious beliefs are treated equally and all needs are accommodated so that high quality services are provided to all.
- Must be willing to become proficient with rules and regulations of Public Assistance programs that provide benefits to low-income populations.
- Must adhere to confidentiality policies of the agency and respect the confidentiality of co-workers and clients.
- Point of contact for all agency provided services and as such, must always present a professional image in every facet.
- Make sure there are notices posted on the front door whenever the office is closed as to why the office is closed.
- Assist with the Energy Assistance Program in whatever capacity is deemed necessary and feasible.
- Must possess the capability to communicate and work well with others, varying widely in social status and educational background.
- Keep the front reception area neat, clean, stocked, and orderly. (Sweep, mop, dust, windows, trash)
- Set an example for all staff by following agency policy and procedures.

- Complete all other duties as assigned by the County Director.
Required Qualifications:
· Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
· Must have general knowledge of office skills and equipment, including but not limited to – managing computer data bases, general knowledge of Microsoft, Excel and Word, fax machines, copiers, and other various office equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Data entry and secretarial/reception experience.
Physical Demands:
This is largely a sedentary role; however, filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. Heavy lifting of up to 50lbs. is sometimes required.
