The Commercial Partnerships Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the processes that support the commercial aspects of Rakuten Rewards - North America.
This role involves collaborating with and agencies while coordinating with various internal departments to streamline operations, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive revenue growth from the top affiliate agencies.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills to help identify opportunities, strong partner relations skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects that drive revenue.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain strategic partnership with affiliate agencies and increase their merchant count and revenue with Rakuten Rewards.

Lead partnerships with 120+ agencies globally with a focus on the top 20 partners.

Managing and improving the programs that support our commercial activities.

Analyze and improve commercial processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness

Monitor agency sales activities, and results.

Work closely with sales, marketing, finance, product and operations teams to:

ensure alignment and smooth execution of commercial strategies

create unique product and pricing solutions to drive more revenue from agencies

Monitor commercial key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop insights to inform strategic decisions.

Prepare and present regular reports on commercial activities, sales performance, and market trends.

Identify and develop new partnership opportunities.

Represent Rakuten Rewards at industry events including podcasts, conferences and panel interviews.

Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.

Provide training and support to team members on commercial processes and tools.

Educate agencies on the latest industry news and Rakuten Rewards innovations, from reporting and insights to piublisher optimization opportunities.

Share key industry trends internally with Product team, as gathered from agency partners.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

3-5 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or a related role.

Proven track record of successfully managing and growing strategic partnerships.

Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.

Willingness to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:

3-5 Years Experience in the Affiliate sector.

MBA or relevant advanced degree.

Familiarity with contract law and negotiation practices.

Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.
