X Ray Technician Job Summary
We need an X-Ray Technician to join our medical team. You must have an associate degree in radiology or a related field from an accredited program. You must be able to make our patients feel comfortable and safe and be able to explain each phase of the procedure. It is also very important to keep the imaging room clean and maintain all privacy regulations. A certificate from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required. Free parking on site. Positions are available for Part Time/ Full Time/ Per Diem.
X Ray Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare the exam room for the proper procedure
- Answer patient questions about imaging procedures
- Coordinate with physicians to ensure the proper delivery of images
- Performing the more common X-ray studies: Chest, Extremity, Spinal X-ray
- Properly documenting X-ray studies performed and facilitating the communication between the Provider and Radiologist by using all internal X-ray and care coordination software
- Troubleshooting equipment and software malfunctions and informing Site Manager when service needs to be contacted
- Enhancing the culture of healthcare by providing exceptional patient care, safety, and best practice
- Maintain equipment and other clinical supplies at appropriate levels. Identify and appropriately dispose of expired supplies

X Ray Technician Requirements and Qualifications
- Associate degree in radiologic technology or radiology
- limited X-ray License are acceptable
- Certificate from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Experience in patient care
- Familiarity with HIPAA policies
- Strong communication skills in order to provide clear instructions to patients on the process of procedures performed
- The ability to:
- perform basic X-rays of the chest, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, knee, foot or ankle
- position patients for X-ray, adjust restriction devices and equipment to set exposure factors
- determine patient's' X-ray needs by accurately interpreting special instructions from the provider
- use beam-restrictive devices and patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient and staff (ALARA principle)
- Flexibility with full-time work schedule including weekends
- Bilingual language skills preferred based on site location.
