Power Mechanical, Inc. is seeking a hardworking, career-oriented person of good character to fill a Machinist position within our organization.
Reports To: Lead Machinist
The Machinist is responsible for, but not limited to, the following machining and mechanical tasks:

Trouble shooting, diagnosing, repairing, and testing machinery with minimal supervision

Operating conventional machinery, such as: Mill, Lathe, Saw, and Grinders

Making replacement parts and small production runs
-
Ability to measure using various instruments
-
Drill and tap holes
-
Machine parts by instruction of sketches and blueprints
-
Ability to repair existing parts
-
Make fixtures for production parts
-
Create the desired surface finish on parts
-
Replacing bearings and bushings
-
Setting rotor clearances
-
Testing and repairing pressure controls
-
Rebuilding electric motors up to 100 horsepower
-
Tool repair
-
Making reliable modifications to improve machinery
-
Rebuilding and testing air compressors and valves
-
Repairing control devices and select pumps
This position requires:

A high school diploma or an equivalent but post-secondary training or certification is preferred
-
Basic math skills and be proficient in geometry and algebra
-
Excellent customer service and effective communication skills
-
Regular prolonged standing
-
Regular lifting of 50 lbs.
-
Regular bending, kneeling, stooping
-
Regular twisting/turning
-
Regular reaching and working overhead
-
Frequent pushing/pulling 50 lbs.
-
Occasional work in high noise situations
-
Occasional work at elevations over 4 feet
Candidate should be willing and able to learn, be dependable, and have a good work ethic. This position is fulltime and requires overtime. A candidate with non-essential abilities, such as welding certifications, or who has a mechanical or electrical background is preferred.
