Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated bilingual (English/Spanish) production supervisor to support the production team in a Greenhouse setting. Responsibilities include ensuring all manufacturing requirements relating to safety, quality and delivery are met. This includes key performance measures relating to production. This is a leadership role that requires strong organizational and communication skills.
Essential job functions include but not limited to, the following:
- Manage the daily production function within a plant for 2-productions lines or specific area.
- Support and track progress against operational KPI's, e.g., safety, quality, delivery, and waste.
- Promote core values and systems.
- Facilitate general problem-solving activities to determine corrective and preventive action.
- Manage developmental, training and implementation of standardized work within.
- Ensure versatility process is being followed.
- Set direction for respective production area and hold individuals accountable to performance standards and expectations.
- Conduct timely and complete performance evaluations of direct associates and those reporting under your indirect supervision.
- Assess subordinates' skills sets, current and future development needs to take steps to mentor and develop them appropriately.
- Manage staffing for respective area to meet ongoing production requirements and proactively escalate stagging shortages/surpluses.
- Conduct a pre-shift meeting to communicate company news, review safety's and quality issues, address questions, etc.
- Review production results and respond to any customer issues or equipment stoppages/problems.
- Execute routine inspection of the production area to review status of safety and quality compliance.
- Coordinate communication and documentation between departments.
- Coordinate any repairs with maintenance.
- Identify and train a back-up(s) to manage key tasks when absent.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, management, engineering, or related discipline; consideration may be given to those who hold 6 years minimum experience.
- Minium of three years of experience in a supervisory or team lead position.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience building relationship across career levels and functions.
- Strong problem-solving acumen with demonstrated experience utilize lean manufacturing methods and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop others through support, coaching, and accountability.
- Demonstrated use of business, financial and functional acumen to drive sound making decision making.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $51,000.00 per year
