Wayside Farm is currently seeking an experienced Bookkeeper/Medical Billing Specialist who will assist in the day-to-day accounting, and medical billing functions of the facility in accordance with current acceptable accounting and cost reimbursement principles relating to the long-term care operation, and as may be directed by the administrator or accountant.
Bookkeeper Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assists in implementing the day-to-day functions of the accounting department.
- Medicare- Prepare claims, submit electronically, post deposits into PCC, and follow up on denials; Wayside Farm and Northampton Meadows.
For the resident trust, maintain banking records, post deposits, write checks and balance statements, send quarterly statements.
- Discuss financial obligations and payment responsibilities with Residents and/or Financial Representatives prior to or upon admission.
- Utilize monthly bookkeeping calendar to ensure deadlines are being met.
- Provide each resident/Guardian with a quarterly accounting of his/her funds managed by the facility.
- Verify funding for all payer sources. Assist in obtaining authorization as needed.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Previous experience working as a Bookkeeper or accounting practices, as well as medical billing is a must. Experience in healthcare accounting preferred. A Bachelor's Degree is strongly desired.
