Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Parts Specialist to join our team. As a Parts Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the inventory, sourcing and purchasing parts, and providing exceptional customer service. This is a key role in our organization that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of marine/automotive diagnostics.
Responsibilities:
- Price and sell parts to customers, both in-person and over the phone
- Maintain accurate inventory control by conducting regular stock counts and reconciling discrepancies
- Source parts from various suppliers to ensure availability and competitive pricing
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms
- Process purchase orders and manage the delivery of parts
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their parts needs and inquiries
- Coordinate logistics for incoming and outgoing parts shipments
- Utilize Lightspeed system for parts lookup and ordering
- Collaborate with other departments within the dealership to ensure efficient operations
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role as a Parts Specialist or in marine/automotive parts sales
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong negotiation skills when dealing with suppliers
- Proficient in using inventory management systems and Lightspeed software
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in record keeping
