We are seeking a dynamic and energetic person to join our progressive oral surgery practice. We have 4 locations in the Des Moines and surrounding area along with 9 amazing surgeons. You'd be assisting alongside our surgeons in surgical procedures, as well as helping provide patient education and care during our clinical consultation/post op appointments.
In this role you will you preform surgical assisting duties within compliance of state regulations to promote quality dental care for patients, maintain equipment and inventory, and follow universal precautions and all OSHA requirements to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Additional duties may include but not limited to:
- Allowing patients to feel comfortable with introduction, education, and explanation of planned exam or treatment, post-operative explanation and escorting the patient to and from all exam, treatment or discharge areas
- Take, develop, and copy radiographs as needed
- Contribute to appropriate patient care by assisting the surgeons expeditiously and completely in diagnosis, treatment, and post-operative care.
- Completion of all patient charts with full documentation, initials, and drug charting
- Answer phone calls and post-operative questions as able at your level of ability and always in a kind manner. Know when to refer questions and calls to the doctors or other staff as appropriate.
- Enable flow of patient care to proceed smoothly and inform the doctors of patient’s current desires for care, previous care and/or current concerns
- Complete all duties otherwise instructed by the surgeons and/or directed by office manager.
