Qualifications
- You must be able to legally work in the United States.
- You must have a valid driver's license and be comfortable driving cargo vans.
- You must have a food handlers certification.
- You must be eligible for an Level 1 IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- You must be able to lift and move heavy loads of 50 lbs or more daily.
- You must be able to be on your feet all day.
- You must be able to make motions like lifting, bending over, sweeping and wiping.
- You must speak some English and some Spanish.
Responsibilities
- Food Preparation - Pulling the correct number of boxes of food from the freezer and refrigerator, placing the food on heavy metal cooking trays and pans, labeling the prepared food. Occasionally involves cutting with sharp knives and using food processing equipment.
- Cooking and Heating - Moving heavy metal trays of food into and out of heating cabinets and hot ovens. Ensuring temperatures thresholds are reached and food is being held at the proper temperatures.
- Safety - Following all policies and procedures required for food safety and maintaining a safe workplace environment. This involves attending paid trainings on off-hours. Must be diligent in taking temperature logs of walk-ins, equipment, and food.
- Driving - Have a valid driver's license, be able to drive carefully and obey all traffic laws, and feel comfortable driving long distances on freeways and highways. Refill gas at gas stations and submit service requests for vehicle maintenance.
- Rapid Customer Service - Serve food rapidly and in a small time span to students with a short lunch break. Friendly and smiling service for students and build good relationships with school staff. Always treat staff and students with respect and professionality even when it is hard.
- Paperwork - Keep accurate and organized documentation. Keep paperwork free of stains, tears, and creases. Record amounts of food prepared, used, and leftover after every meal service.
- Regulations and Procedures - Carry out your work using the procedures established by management. Attend training on food service regulations. Follow the "Offer vs Serve" procedures.
- Punctuality - Stick to your schedule as precisely as possible. Do not rush or arrive early to work and to your service site.
- Teamwork - Working with other employees to accomplish group tasks. Covering absent employees by servicing different sites. Maintaining a comfortable and safe working environment.
- Supplies - Document supplies usage and report needed supplies in advance.
- Waste Disposal - Throwing away cardboard boxes, plastic packaging, cans, food waste and liquids. Lifting and tossing heavy bags of garbage and waste.
- Dish Washing - Washing your own dishes after serving at a site. Must follow the proper dish washing techniques for a 3-compartment sink for cleanliness and safety. Involves handling very hot water, sanitizing chemicals and detergents. Scrapping food from dishes and utensils.
- Cleaning - Sweep and mop floors, wipe down and sanitize surfaces with the proper techniques, and clean out food insulators and vehicles inside and out.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.50 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
