Preferred Skills
- Patience and understanding with young adults and children who are living with intellectual/developmental disabilities
- Experience in building independent living skills such as hygiene, safety, social skills, expressive and receptive communication, meal prep, etc.
- Knowledge of home care services
- Proficient in written and verbal communication
- Experience supporting high-risk individuals with behavioral support plans
- OIS Training and Certified (pays at a higher rate)
Direct Support Professional Qualifications:
- Be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Personal Support: 1 year (Required)
- High school or equivalent
- Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
- English, Reading, Writing, and Spoken (Required)
- Be able to pass a background check
- Effective communication with families, medical providers, and other support personnel.
- Able to make calm decisions and provide support in emergency situations.
- Be certified in CPR and First Aid by a recognized training agency within 90 calendar days of employment.
- Must have a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance in compliance with the laws of the Department of Motor Vehicles.
