The Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center has an opening for Senior Arabic Language Coordinator
Responsibilities:
- Oversee curriculum development and improvement of four Arabic Languages programs at the Center: Academic Year Program, Saturday Children's Program, and Sabla Summer Arabic Immersion Program
- Plan and Coordinate up to 4 Arabic Language related public events
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, organization, staff coordination, and time management
- Hire and supervise Arabic language instructors as needed
- Serve as on-site coordinator during Saturday Children’s Classes AND Arabic Debate program (also held on Saturdays)
- Participate in the selection committee for Arabic study-abroad program
- Understand the processing of applications utilizing student information system (SIS)
- Manage student registration and records
- Collaborate with Language Program Associate in the completion of duties as needed
- Collaborate with the Program Department for larger events at Center as needed
- Some evening and weekend work required
- Ability to lift 40 lbs
Qualifications and Experience:
- Native fluency in Arabic
- At least 5 years of recent experience teaching Arabic as a second language, preferably to adults, and a master's degree in teaching, education, language, or related field. Ph.D. in linguistics preferred
- Demonstrated experience in designing curriculum for adult learners
- Experience in word processing and database management
- Experience with HTML
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills
- Google Classroom literate
- Quickschools Literate
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be results-oriented and comfortable with a fast-paced environment and have the ability to function well as a member of a team
