Parker Family Health Center is a medical family practice staffed primarily by volunteer doctors and nurses who provide free medical care for those without insurance or the means to pay. We are in Red Bank, NJ and accept uninsured patients from all of Monmouth County.
Job description
The staff nurse at the Parker Family Health Center is a Registered Professional Nurse that holds a license that is current and in good standing in the state of New Jersey. Promotes ethical practices and ensures delivery of clinical services consistent with expected medical standards of care.
Responsibilities:
I. GENERAL
1. Assists the staff of the Parker Family Health Center to maintain a safe environment for patients, their families and the volunteers at the Parker Family Health Center.
2. Supports, communicates and follows the approved policies and procedures of the Parker Family Health Center for the delivery of optimum patient care.
3. Serves as a resource for professional, non-professional staff and volunteers on issues pertaining to Parker Center operations when performing daily clinic nursing functions.
4. Assists with the volunteer nurse orientation process acting as preceptor and resource for nursing volunteers.
5. Functions as clinic charge nurse as assigned on specific days.
6. Acts appropriately and within scope their of practice at all times
contributing in a positive way to support the mission of the clinic.
II. CASE MANAGEMENT
1. Oversight of the organization of care and monitoring of a specific
group of patients, i.e. complex patients or a specific population
requiring intensive follow-up for care, medical research, or grant data
collection and to insure optimum clinical outcomes.
2. Patient education, communication of the providers plan
Of care, documentation of clinical status and
collaboration with appropriate agencies or providers based upon the
specific needs of a given population.
3. Establishes relationships with collaborative agencies and individuals in order to accomplish referral care for PFHC patients.
III. CHARGE POSITION
Responsible for PFHC staff, volunteers, patients and facility on assigned charge day.
Including:
1. Oversight and facilitation of scheduled patient visits.
2. Triage of acutely ill patients.
3. Assigning new patients with appropriate and timely appointments.
4. Assisting volunteer providers with PFHC policies and procedures.
Participation with collaborative agencies in the community as appropriate for a specific population or event.
IV. NECESSARY SKILLS
1. Excellent communication/Interpersonal Skills
2. Team player
3. Excellent organizational skills
4. Knowledge of outpatient medical office practices
5. Computers – Word, Excel
6. BLS
7. Medical facility supervision experience.
V. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
1. Outpatient nursing experience
2. Population Specific Medical Experience e.g. Women’s health,
pediatric, chronic disease and under resourced.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
