Position Purpose:
To manage and implement the Universal Pure Food Safety System through document review, procedural review, internal auditing, overseeing food safety/quality controls and providing training as needed.
Major tasks, responsibilities, and key accountabilities:
- Cross-trained in all areas of responsibility for FSQA technicians, this allows The Administrator to be familiar with all duties, as well as allowing for emergency coverage, should the situation arise.
- Give assistance in creating, reviewing, authenticating, and maintaining food safety system documents, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and HACCP/HARPC programs.
- Maintaining facility document registers and documentation.
- Risk based Preventive Control individual. Ensures product(s) are processed to company’s Food Safety Plans.
- Inform the FSQA Supervisor of ANY food safety deviations.
- Implementing and Managing Food Safety Corrective Actions.
- Responsible for assuring that any product samples for testing are properly packaged and shipped, and for the training of designees assigned to this task. as well as document information derived from analysis.
- Responsible for communicating with site Management, as well as with FSQA employees, with reports, updates, changes and modifications to Food Safety programs and company procedures.
- Review, and maintain HACCP and/or Food Safety Plan(s) records and any supporting documents. (Report any negative findings to FSQA management and take proper corrective actions).
- Assist the FSQA Supervisor in companywide FSQA quarterly training and orientation.
- Conducts facility weekly and monthly audits such as (GMP, Pest Control, ETC).
- Provide daily monitoring of facility and personnel to ensure compliance to the food safety system of the facility.
- Ensure training of facility personnel on GMPs, Risk Preventive Controls, Hazard Analysis, pre-requisite programs, and other applicable food safety system elements as required.
- Safely keep records of all facility analytical results; immediately report results discovered to be out of specification to the FSQA supervisor.
- Provide documented reports of analytical results to the FSQA supervisor, also responsible for tracking and reporting data trends.
- Assisting in investigating non-conformance and customer complaints; and providing leadership for the facility team in carrying out corrective actions and preventive measures.
- Aid in hosting visitors to the facility, including regulatory agency representatives and customer representatives, function as a host for the facility’s third-party auditors.
- Possess innovative, resourceful, and proactive disposition, committed to ensuring continuous improvement of capacity and delivering quality service.
- Ability to prioritize and perform position responsibilities accurately and to deadline.
- Follow health, safety, and cleanliness standards.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality for an hourly role
- Handle any other tasks as assigned by the FSQA Supervisor.
- Assure that daily production data is correct.
- Transfer production data into database.
- Validate production labor hours.
- Assist with continuous improvement projects.
- Assist with documenting production processes.
- Learn and conduct audits of production processes to assure compliance.
- Generate and distribute production reports from databases and systems.
Serve as a liaison between Customer Service and Production
Minimum Role Qualifications
- Experience performing administrative work including completing and reconciling paperwork preferred.
- Prior FSQA technician or document control experience preferred.
- Prior food manufacturing experience preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable FDA/USDA regulations and GMPs preferred.
- Computer skills including basic Microsoft Excel Preferred.
- Detailed oriented.
- Ability to work weekends (8 hr.), if needed.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to think analytically and problem solve.
- Ability to stay organized and multitask.
- Ability to perform basic mental math.
- Ability to effectively work with others and as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Formal Training/Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 - 3years of experience in quality assurance is preferred.

FSQA Technician/ Document Administrator Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
This is largely a static role with standing, however, the ability to perform repetitive bending and standing up is also required. This would require the ability to lift 10-35 lbs. repetitively and up to 45 lbs. occasionally. Must also be able to push/pull up to 250 lbs on rollers occasionally.
This role operates in a wet and cold/refrigerated environment (around 35 degrees F) located within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production type facility. Must be able to withstand cold temperatures for duration of shift.
